Dear Members of the 1939 Club,
Thank you.
It has been now a little more than a year since my wife
and I where invited to Los Angeles for the first time by the
1939 club. That was also when we met Bill Elperin for the first
time. Since then, a lot has happened. But since the beginning,
Bill Elperin made it clear that he and the 1939 Club wanted to
help us.
The 1939 Club did the same as I did. You acted and not
only talked. That means you gave me and my family a new future
in California. You allowed me to get an education on one of the
best Universities in the US. But also you indicated your support
for what I did on behalf of Holocaust survivors. Thank you for
your courage to stand out in the crowd.
My two children, Mirjam and Davide, also want to say
thank you for the nice place where they live now. They enjoy
riding their bicycles the whole day, and they are recovering
from the difficulties of the last two years. But most of all,
they want to say thank for the fact that they now each have
their own very nice bedroom.
Thank you for all the hours you invested for us. We know
many of you worked behind the scenes with your hearts to give us
back more than we even had in Switzerland. I will never forget
when I took my first step into my new house and saw all the
furniture. Everything
was there—even stamps.
We wish all the members of the 1939 club luck, good
health, and a long life. Of
course, everybody is welcome at our house at any time.
The Lord bless you.
